Our History

Discovery Bay Church was established in 1983 by Niels & Ann Kransoe and a small group of residents. The first service was held on 30^th October 1983. The Sunday School started soon after on 27^th November 1983. The first services were held in the Discovery Bay Residents' Club and then as numbers swelled, moved to Discovery Bay International School in 1987.

On 10^th November 1985 the AGM approved the Church constitution and in May 1986 Discovery Bay Church was established as a ”Society exempted from registration under the Societies Ordinance” in Hong Kong.

In 1990 Discovery Bay Church became a daughter church of St John’s Cathedral and Fr Rob Gillian became the first appointed Priest-in-Charge. In 1994, the church moved its worship services to the newly opened SKH (Sheng Kung Hui) Wei Lun Primary School.
